Poly Lactic Acid is a new renewable, fully degradable polymer. from natural plants that are recycled from the earth. It is produced by converting starch from natural plants such as cassava into sugar and fermenting it with biological strains to form PLA by polymerizing lactic acid, which decomposes into carbon dioxide and water by microbial action in the soil after disposal and does not emit toxic gases when burned.

PLA can mainly be made into fibres, films, plastics etc., while PLA fibres have become an important application direction for PLA materials due to their excellent properties and wide applicability, mainly for textile garments. Decorative fabrics and personal hygiene etc.

Compared to other natural fibres with degradable properties, PLA is a biodegradable fibre capable of melt processing and has many of the same characteristics as synthetic fibres in general, such as a certain degree of curl. It has a smooth surface, resilience and low moisture reversion, but also has the biodegradability and excellent tactile properties of natural fibres.
